Monoï, an ancestral oil with an exotic fragrance evocative of vacations, paradisiacal beaches and vahines with colourful flower necklaces, has been passed down through the generations without a trace of ageing!

Tiare flower, gardenia tahitensis in Latin, is a pretty white Polynesian flower with 5 to 8 helically shaped petals. Its fragrance is suave, heady and bewitching. Its aroma is described as floral, tropical and slightly sweet. It is a great source of inspiration for perfumers.
Its leaves are also used for their medicinal virtues. They help fight sunburn and calm convulsions. Its buds soothe asthma attacks, combat fatigue and possible stress-related trauma, and its petals act on the bronchi and liver.
Emblematic of Tahiti, the tiare flower grows on a small shrub of the Rubiaceae family, a plant native to Micronesia. Worn as a crown, necklace or over the ear, it's a beauty accessory and a sign of welcome.
Did you know it? Like the wedding ring, the tiare flower has a special meaning depending on its location. On the heart side of the left ear, it indicates that the wearer is taken. On the right ear, it means the wearer is available.

But beware of preconceived ideas! Monoï des Iles dry oil does not protect against UV rays, and should not be applied during sun exposure without sunscreen. It can be dangerous, causing severe, indelible burns to the skin.
On hair:
Monoï des Iles dry oil plays an essential role in rehydrating damaged hair. Applied as a mask to wet or dry hair, the effect is guaranteed. Hair instantly regains its suppleness and shine.
As with the skin, Monoï des Iles dry oil does not contain UVA and UVB filters, so it should not be applied to hair before sun exposure.
